JANUARY

Toddler Make and Take

 Tuesday, January 10th and Wednesday, January 11th 9:30-10:30am

 Make marine life crafts, listen to a story, and learn about some of our animals! This program is for children ages 3-5 with an accompanying adult.

$18 per child/adult pair. $8 per additional child. Pre-registration is required.

International Polar Bear Day

Saturday, February 25th  All Day

We have partnered with Polar Bears International to help you learn more about polar bears and what we can do in our everyday lives to help these disappearing bears.

All ages. Included with admission.

 

FrogWatch USA Training

Wednesday, February 29th 6:00-8:00pm

Do you like the outdoors? Upon completion of one of these trainings, you will have the tools to collect and report information about New Jersey frogs that will be used in a national study. Participants must complete a skills test.

Ages 16 and up. Pre-registration is required.

 

 

 

MARCH

Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ Birthday

Friday, March 2nd 2:00-5:00pm

Bring in your favorite book and receive half price children’s admission, then share your story during storytimes with the Cat in the Hat at 2:00, 3:00, and 4:30 pm. All Ages. Included with admission.

Do you have what it takes to be a migratory bird? Discover the many perils that face birds during their travels.

Fossil Making

Make your own fossils using shells, shark teeth, and more. During this program, learn about our living fossils - horseshoe crabs.

Join us as we celebrate Clean Oceans with Dr. Seuss and learn how you can help our oceans.

Aquarium Explorers Camp

June 19th- August 30th, 2012

Tuesday-Thursday, 9:00am-1:00pm

Created for mini-marine biologists ages 5-10, Aquarium Explorers camp will provide children the chance to learn about aquarium inhabitants through crafts, games, and live animal visits! There will be different themes each week. For a full description, please visit our website. Sneakers are required.

$150 per child per week. You can even sign up for multiple weeks!

Registration begins May 2012.

 

Junior Keepers

June 18th – August 31st, 2012

Mondays and Fridays, 8:00am-1:00pm

This program provides students ages 11-16 with the opportunity to experience the aquarium from an employee’s point of view. For a full description, please visit our website. Sneakers are required.

$80 per child per day. (additional $10 for a Junior Keepers T-shirt) You can even sign up for multiple sessions!

Beachcombing

Every Monday in July 6:00-6:45pm

Explore the shore with our staff during this free program and see what you can find! Cap off your trip with one of Jenkinson’s free kiddie beach shows at Jenkinson’s South Beach stage! Weather permitting. All Ages.

Have a penguin party with Jenkinson’s Aquarium and SANCCOB (South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds) - our partner in penguin conservation.

Dissection Workshop

Dissect a fish and a squid and learn the differences between these two animals.
