Aquarium Educational Programs

Pre-registration is required for all workshops. Call (732) 899-1659. Workshop price includes all day Aquarium admission on the day of the workshop. Workshops are for children ages 5 & up unless otherwise noted. Workshops are subject to cancellation.

Ever wonder what it’s like to work at Jenkinson’s Aquarium? Go behind the scenes, help us feed some animals along the way, and learn what it takes to work here. Feel like a Jenkinson’s keeper with your own t-shirt for only $10. Call to pre-register: 732-899-1659.

Earth Day

Saturday 4/19/08 All day All ages General Admission

Discover a variety of ways to protect our environment from the air to the sea. Join in the appreciation and celebration of our blue planet. Watch dive demonstrations in our tanks throughout the day.

It’s Play Time

Saturday 4/26/08 2:00-3:00pm

Ages 7 & up $14 adults/$11 children

See all those toys in with our animals? Learn why enrichment is so important to our animals and help make an enrichment toy for them.

Behind the Scenes Tour

Sunday 4/27/08 9:30am-11:00am

Ages 7 and up only. $13 for adults & $10 for children

Discover what goes on behind the scenes when you work at an aquarium. Learn what it takes to feed, clean, and enrich all of our animals on a daily basis. Tour the building from top to bottom while learning about our animals along the way. All participants must wear closed-toed shoes! Call to pre-register: 732-899-1659.

Rainforest Awareness Day

Saturday 5/3/08 All day All ages General Admission

Explore the wonders of the rainforest from plants and bugs to marmosets and macaws. Learn ways you can help save this vanishing ecosystem. Between 1:00pm & 4:00pm there will be arts & crafts, face painting, story time, and other activities. This special event is FREE with paid general admission. All ages are welcome. NO pre-registration is required.
